Fusion is the highest-risk roster decision in Grow a Chicken Fighter because it turns two chickens into a mutated fighter. The official experience description confirms that core action, but it does not explain eligibility, cost, whether inputs disappear, output previews, ability inheritance, deterministic recipes, or probabilities. Protect your working teams and read the current confirmation panel before every attempt.

Prepare before opening Fusion

Keep at least one dependable PIT lineup and the chickens needed for your current Tower progress. Identify duplicates through the All Chickens roster, then check how replaceable each input is through All Eggs. A duplicate from an uncertain named egg is not as expendable as one from an affordable repeatable source.

Write down each input’s exact name, form, level, upgrades, rarity, and special ability. This is not busywork: if the output changes those fields, the before-and-after record is the only reliable way to understand what happened. Never use a favorite or only copy in a first experiment unless the current preview explicitly protects it.

Input A

Record exact identity, source, investment, ability, and current team role. Mark whether another copy can be obtained now.

Input B

Use the same fields and check that this chicken is not quietly supporting PIT income or a Tower boss team.

Preview

Read cost, warnings, output identity, inherited fields, random-result wording, and cancellation behavior if the current panel shows them.

Result

Capture the mutated fighter card, ability, stats, form, and version date before upgrading or fusing again.

Understand what is officially known

The confirmed statement is simple: fusing two chickens can produce a mutated monster. It does not prove that every pair works, that order matters, that the output is stronger, or that a particular recipe is guaranteed. It also does not establish whether stats or abilities inherit from either input.

Treat every unshown rule as unknown. If the panel names the output before confirmation, preserve that preview. If it says random, do not publish a guaranteed combination. If it hides the result, value the attempt as a risk and spend only replaceable inputs.

Choose inputs by opportunity cost

A fusion can be exciting and still be a bad next move. Calculate what the roster loses: current PIT earnings, Tower progress, a rare ability, and the time or money required to rehatch both inputs. Compare that cost with the output preview and your current bottleneck.

Safe early candidates are true duplicates whose original role is already covered and whose source remains available. High-risk candidates include named-egg exclusives, the only chicken with a useful ability, heavily upgraded fighters, and any unit carrying the current team. “Low tier” is not enough reason to spend a chicken when rankings are unverified.

Build a mutation record

For each completed fusion, store input A, input B, input order, visible investment, cost, preview wording, exact output, result ability, whether the recipe repeated, date, and server version signal. Do not turn two matching observations into a precise percentage. If later attempts differ, describe the result as variable.

The Mutations page uses a currently documented index rather than a fabricated full list. One result should map to one canonical entry when the game displays a unique name. Visual changes without a separate name should remain attached to the observed output until the interface clarifies them.

Test the output before ranking it

Do not judge a mutation only by appearance or raw attack. Read its special ability and test it under comparable conditions. Use the same PIT environment or Tower segment and compare several runs with equalized investment. A mutation can be valuable for one mode and replaceable in another.

Fusion mistakes to avoid

  • Confirming before reading whether inputs are consumed.
  • Using the only reliable PIT earner and losing the money loop.
  • Assuming input order or a thumbnail recipe guarantees the result.
  • Treating a mutated fighter as automatically stronger.
  • Claiming ability inheritance without a current preview or repeated observation.
  • Publishing precise odds from a small attempt count.
  • Repeating a costly experiment after an update without rechecking the panel.

A sensible fusion loop

Hatch until the roster has stable mode teams and safe duplicates. Test the inputs, read the current fusion preview, make one controlled attempt, then test the output before repeating. Fusion questions to settle before a second attempt

Confirm whether the first result matched the preview, whether both inputs were consumed, and whether the output kept any investment or ability. Then ask whether the mutation solved the intended PIT or Tower problem. If the answer is unclear, the next useful action is testing the result, not repeating the pair. When a second controlled result disagrees, classify the combination as variable and preserve both observations with their dates.
